藉由彰化基督教醫院國際事務部的接洽到彰基乳房中心來進行為期一個月的進修
此行她希望對乳癌的診斷 治療 手術最新的技術有更進一步的學習
利用這幾個禮拜 我與她分享 一些關於乳癌腫瘤整型式切除 內視鏡乳癌手術 及 乳房重建的技巧與心得

記得幾年前到日本 與 義大利進修時 也是放開工作與家庭飛到異鄉去跟國際級的專家學習
遇到遠地而來的外國醫師總是能體會離鄉背井來學習的辛苦
所以總是傾囊相授把所知所學與他們分享
也很高興在回國慢慢耕耘之後逐漸有些成果
也很欣慰內視鏡乳癌微創手術也成為彰基乳房中心的特色醫療!

Dear Dr. Lai,
Thank you for accomodating me at CCH Breast Center. I learned a lot of practical knowledge that I can apply in my surgical practice here in the Philippines (ex: oncoplasty techniques for breast conservation, sentinel lymph node biopsy, use of ultrasound for diagnosis and biopsy, chemotherapy, and many more). Before my training there, I am doing only modified radical mastectomy, wide excision for breast conservation and a formal axillary dissection. I refer to radiologist for ultrasound and medical oncologist for chemotherapy. Now I can serve my patients better and can offer them more options. However, I still need some practice and studies here in my country in order to be proficient with these new approaches. And maybe further training in the future for any new developments about management of breast diseases. Learning about breast reconstructive surgery and endoscopy-assisted breast surgeries are my plans in the near future.
If you plan to have expansion of your fellowship program, like offering more training opportunities, especially hands-on experience, and if you have international breast conference at CCH or in any place in Taiwan, please contact me. Maybe I can have a visit there again in the future.
